Privacy notice

How we protect your information.

This notice explains what information Voices of a Lifetime collects, why it is collected and how it is handled.

  1. Information we collect

When someone uses the Contact or Share Your Story form, we may collect their name, email address, phone number, preferred method of contact and the information included in their message.

A story submission may also include an age range, possible story topics, accessibility considerations and information about the person who may be interviewed.

  2. Why we collect this information

We use submitted information to reply to enquiries, learn about a possible participant, discuss participation, arrange an interview and provide information about the project.

  3. Story submissions are not published

Information submitted through the website is not automatically published. Sending a story submission does not commit anyone to an interview and does not give Voices of a Lifetime permission to record or publish a story.

A separate Interview Consent and Media Release Form must be signed before any interview is recorded.

  4. Submissions made by family members

A family member may make an initial enquiry for someone else. However, the person being interviewed must understand the project and voluntarily agree to participate.

Family members should avoid submitting highly sensitive information about another person without their knowledge.

  5. How information is protected

Personal information, contact details, recordings and signed forms are stored using reasonable security measures. Access is limited to people who need the information to operate or administer the project.

  6. Service providers

Hosting, email, storage and technical service providers may process limited information when providing services used to operate the website and project.

Voices of a Lifetime does not sell or rent personal information.

  7. How long information is kept

Enquiry information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary to respond and administer the enquiry. Signed consent forms and related production records may be kept longer to document permissions connected with recorded or published material.

  8. Website security and cookies

The website may use essential cookies and temporary security measures to protect forms, reduce spam and prevent misuse. The website does not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

  9. Social media and external websites

Links to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and other external websites are provided for convenience. When a visitor follows one of these links, the external platform's own privacy policies and practices apply.

  10. Questions, access or corrections

Someone may contact Voices of a Lifetime to ask about their submitted information or request a correction.

    Email info@voicesofalifetime.com or call 647-409-7317.
